Sister City Association connects communities globally to solve local challenges
. Partnering with ASCA Alameda, California, and Dumaguete, Philippines, Whalefall unites these coastal cities to empower the next generation with the tools and opportunities to combat climate change.
Since 2019 the team from WHALFALL & the Alameda Sister City Association (ASCA) have been training students in California and Dumaguete as underwater field biologists, monitoring and restoring the coral reefs around Dumaguete and the Apo Island marine reserve.
We’re committed to ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of participation. We are raising funds to support students who cannot afford our high-quality programs. Our flagship program is the most comprehensive deep-dive into climate impact solutions working hand-and-hand with our community partners.
Our curriculum targets a component of an Environmental Impact Project, preparing students to participate in real world research and conservation. Students apply for a specific team, receive training and mentorship in that area of study, and work together in a multidisciplinary environment on a targeted solution.
